Our Story: Building Design Excellence in Helsinki
Design Nordic emerged from a simple observation: Helsinki's thriving tech ecosystem needed designers who could bridge the gap between human needs and digital innovation. Founded in 2017 by a collective of experienced practitioners from Nokia, Supercell, and leading design consultancies, we recognized that traditional design education wasn't keeping pace with industry demands.
Our founders understood that great design education requires more than theoretical knowledge. It demands practical application, real-world constraints, and mentorship from active industry professionals. This insight led us to create a learning environment where students work on actual projects while developing the critical thinking skills that separate good designers from exceptional ones.
Today, Design Nordic stands as Finland's premier destination for UI/UX design education. Our graduates work at companies like Reaktor, Wolt, Rovio, and international organizations across Europe. We've maintained our commitment to small cohorts and personalized attention, ensuring each student receives the guidance they need to develop their unique design voice.
